Real Neat Blog Award :)

The Real Neat Blog Award
This reminds me of secretly using the paint app in the air-conditioned labs during Computer lessons back in class 3, and I love that memory.

I’ve had the honour of being nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award, by D from The Little Libra, and she is one of the loveliest bloggers I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with! Head on over to her blog to find some amazing content (I love her aesthetic too, man, honestly, wow, how do people do that?). This post has been sitting unpublished in my folder for over a month at this point, and I’m so glad I’m finally posting it.

The Rules:

  1. Put the award logo on your blog.
  2. Answer the 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  3. Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
  4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like and ask them 7 questions.
  5. Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog, etc.).

D’s Questions:

  1. If you could stay anywhere in the world for a month, where would you go and why?

Ooh, this is a tough one! After watching bestdressed’s videos, the idea of staying in London for a month sounds absolutely wonderful, but I’d also love to stay in Tokyo, or Bali (because I’ve been wanting to visit Bali for ages at this point). Ahh, it’s crazy, there’s just too many places I’d love to live in for a month.

2. What are your top 3 favorite shows?

The Office, Friends, and The Haunting of Hill House (leaving aside anime shows).

3. What is one quote or saying that has stuck with you since you saw it?

“To define something is to destroy it.” My life seems to have changed drastically in accordance with that quote, and I came across it in this book called Flights, by Olga Tokarczuk. I wrote a little review on the book, so if you want to check that out, I’ll link it in the name.

4. If you could spend a day with anyone (alive or dead), who would you spend it with and why?

Frankly, I don’t know. At this point in the lockdown, I’m tempted to say my friends, but for the sake of maintaining the lovely thought behind this question I’ll say Enid Blyton, because I owe my entire childhood to her. Her books shaped a huge part of my personality, and she’s also the reason why I wanted to become an author in the first place. I’d love to meet her.

5. What is one aspect that you love about yourself?

My mind. There’s just so much in there, and since I can’t pick any one of those things, I’ll say it’s the entirety of it. (This took me 15 minutes to answer because I didn’t know how to prioritise what I loved about myself, and it also made me really happy, because a couple of years ago, I’d be straining to find something positive about myself, and end up giving up and saying “nothing, lmao.”)

6. What are you looking forward to doing after quarantine is over?

To be honest, my exams are going to take place as soon as the lockdown ends, so I’m pretty terrified. And I’ve also been the most productive and healthy during this period of time, so I’m not entirely sure I can go out into the world and function like a normal human being in society again. That being said, I do want some junk food. My instagram feed has been sending me pictures of the loveliest food, and it’s making me very sad.

7. What are 3 things you are grateful for today?

Today? Well, anime shows, time (to recoup and better my mental health), and blogging!

My Nominees:

  1. Kacha, from Food.for.Thoughts.
  2. Alexandrina, from Elysian Haze.
  3. Maryam, from Infinitely a Daydreamer.
  4. Aditi, from One In a Million.
  5. Faustina, from Fausbites.

There’s so many blogs I’m absolutely loving after reviving my blog, ahhhh, it’s hard to pick!

My Questions

  1. What’s the one biggest thing blogging has taught you about yourself?
  2. What is the earliest happy memory you have of yourself?
  3. If you ever wrote a book, who would you dedicate it to and why?
  4. What’s the first place you’d like to travel to once it’s safe to travel again?
  5. Which musical instrument sounds the most pleasing to you?
  6. What’s a movie you can never get tired of, and why?
  7. Name (at least) 3 things you adore about yourself!

I hope you can accept the award because I’d love to read your answers, but if you’re an award-free blog, that’s completely fine too! And thank you once again, D, for nominating me! I loved answering your questions!

  1. Congratulations, Arshia!!! OMG I LOVE BESTDRESSED! I can totally relate!! 🥺❤️ Anyway, is Haunting of The Hill House really good? I’m one scaredy-cat! 😅 I loved reading your answers, congrats again!! ❤️✨

    1. Thank you so much, Jirah! I love her too!! She’s just so beautiful, and smart, and relatable, oof.
The series is actually really good, like, it’s definitely not the typical horror we see and it’s genuinely terrifying! You should try watching it and seeing how it goes, haha! I’m glad you enjoyed reading the post! ❤ ❤

    1. Thank you, Ayesha! It’s a lovely quote that means when we define something, we are limiting its true potential and all it can be! Kind of like how labels limit us as humans when we are actually so much more than any word can say for us!

  2. Your answers!! I’m pretty sure I ate each answer up 😂 That sounded way better in my head! I’ll stay in Tokyo with you because I’ve always wanted to go there, it sounds awesome! And the ‘to define something is to destroy it’ that is such a powerful quote, I’m in literal love!! I am so happy that you have found all these positive things about yourself, and if your blog is anything like your brain, it must be AMAZING!! 💕 Friends my gosh, the (nearly) best series ever, what series are you on?! Tell me all! 😂 I’ve been very addicted to Gilmore Girls and Brooklyn Nine-Nine at the mo, but I’ve heard The Office is good. There’s just not enough time to watch all this TV! 😂 You deserve this award so much, congratulations Arshia!! 🙂

    1. How did I not see this comment earlier, oh god! That sounded just perfect to me, Amber, hahahaha! Just hearing you say you’d come with me to Tokyo made me actually realise how much I would love to meet you in person someday because that would actually be the best thing!
I’m so glad you like the quote :’) it’s come to mean a lot to me. You really flatter me too much, I am eating this comment up (heh)!
I love Friends! I’ve probably watched the series more than 20 times by now because I’ve been watching it since I was 5, back when my parents used to watch it on TV! Ooh! How is Gilmore Girls? I really want to give it a try! And definitely try The Office! It’s a little slow and hard to get used to at first, but it is the funniest thing ever!
Thank you so much, once again, Amber! I hope you’re doing good! ❤

Haha I really love that quote! Awh!
Oh my gosh that’s awesome, you are a crazy fan like me! I have literally all their merchandise like it’s crazy!! It is so good, I’m nearly on the last episode everrr and ahhhh! 😭 I’m gonna miss it too much! For sure, I’ll definitely give it a good try to see if I can get into it ✨
Aw no worries Arshia, I definitely am and I hope you are too! 💖

  3. Congratulations!! When I read your answer to number 4, I had to read it for my mom also because she’s a big Enid Blyton fan!! She always tells me how much Ms. Blyton’s books impacted her childhood and it was so cool to see that you would choose her to spend a day with!

  4. Thank you so much for the nomination! THAT QUOTE IS EVERYTHING OMG. It seems to completely describe me as well! And OMG YOU WATCH BESTDRESSED TOO?! I love her videos, I was actually binging some of the older ones today XD, what a coincidence. I really want to go to Bali as well, especially because of all the Youtubers who do it haha. Once again thanks for tagging me! xx wonderful post!

  5. It was so lovely reading your answers and getting to know you better! 💕I’ve heard a lot of good things about The Haunting On House Hill, maybe I’ll have to add to to my to-watch list? 🤔 and I love how much self-love you have, it’s so heart-warming to see. (‘:

    1. That’s exactly why I love posts like these! Oh, and definitely, The Haunting of Hill House is probably the scariest thing I’ve watched in the horror genre, so if you like horror, give it a go for sure!
And thank you so much, D :’) that means a lot to me ❤

  6. I loved friends so much more than I thought I would! At first I was like what if this fake laughter nonsense but now I LIVE AND BREATH FRIENDS (also I’m so sad we didn’t get more Joey + Rachel content? He was the cutest with the baby!) And I’m glad you liked the office – I’m just starting it & I wasn’t really clicking but I’ll probably give it another shot, after all that’s what happened with friends! 💕

    1. Friends is honestly my go-to! I’ve been watching it since I was a kid and it still makes me happy! Joey was definitely the sweetest out of all of them, I feel, such a cutie hahah!
I didn’t click with the office at first either! It does take a while to get into it and it really picks up after half the first season, so definitely give it a try because I think I actually came to laugh more at the office than at friends and that’s saying something!
